I am averse to legal language, and naturally to licenses. Even at my best I can manage to consume two or three words in an hour or so. Jeff Atwood has done a good deed by presenting them for humans. But a more important point to take away from the article is that it is important to pick a license if you want others to reuse your work. Not explicitly using one defaults to attaching a copyright. Being in the neighbourhood, you should know that a new draft of LGPL has been released. Again, might not help a lot directly, but it is important to know that LGPL is not closer to the GPL. And it can cause some talk, as GPLv3 itself is still in a storm.
