Daniel Carrera has announced the ODF Validator (via Sam Ruby). Like other validators it will check compliance of your document with the specification and warn you otherwise. Why is this important? You create something and go to the teacher to see if you have done it right, in that sense validator plays the role of a teacher. I have learnt a lot about HTML from the markup validator.
