How many solutions can be there for designing a simple data table? Luke Wroblewski illustrated the process of redesigning a simple data table. The design should facilitate communication, not overshadow the actual data with visual and data design. I like the term “visual noise” that Luke mentions. This redesign has been taken beyond this by contributions from various individuals and Luke explains the approach (Part 1 and Part 2) behind each of them. It is interesting to look at various factors considered and priorities given to them in the approach. Or the other way round, the factors and their priority can give us our approach for designing, even if it is a simple data table.
