Last year-end brought more visibility to this blog, through the 9rules Network. With time 9rules has evolved into something more than a network. Of course you can always say that it is trying to piggy back on the social networking trends, but it sure is a place to build associations. It is a place to get feedback, do a survey, get help, discovery more quality content and on the way build associations. I think this is a key difference, you do not need to make forced efforts to build your network, it happens through associations.
9rules has now relaunched itself, with Ali2. As 9rules evolved, so did its member agreement. Feedback from members has been incorporated into it to improve the participation. Some have rejected and opted out of it. I did not need any incentives to accept the agreement. It serves me in multiple ways
- Participation provides high value through quality feedback and visibility. It is one of the best places to get your work reviewed.
- The discussions help you build your own thoughts and opinions. Objective questions are easier to answer, subjective questions are where we need help.
- 9rules communities work out better because they have been a combination of experts, professionals and newbies. One of the best combinations for brainstorming.
- It is already a good discovery tool for high quality content. Now the community helps it get better at that.
- As a blogger, it is also one of the best places to find inspiration. Not only the member blogs, but even the notes are a good source of topic to write on.
- It is also one of the rare places where the founders are active users themselves. This also gives you a chance to talk to them directly and contribute.
Of course, this is what 9rules gives me. But it also gives me an opportunity to help others, which gives you enough satisfaction and credibility to motivate you to keep doing that.
Congratulations to the team on the effort, the 9rules leaf stays on this blog. 9rules sure has evolved, and I think I am going to enjoy the change.
