One of the benefits of reading blogs like Linux and Open Source Blog is that you get to know new ways of using Linux; and avoiding Windows, though sometimes in contrasting fashions.
Vixta is a new distribution that is a Fedora based Vista clone. I wonder how far the cloaking will go, but it sure can pull people to use Linux. But I think they will continue using it when they start enjoying the difference.
There is another way, which lets you do your basic Web tasks without even booting into a HDD, CD/DVD or flash drives. It is embedded right there in the motherboard. Splashtop is a technology which boots in seconds (checkout the video). Asus has built the first motherboard which offers this. This is excellent for on-the-go and minimal machines.
