No, there are no spelling mistakes. Aerial, Tymes and Veranda are true type fonts by Gavin Graham, they just sound similar to the Microsoft’s first set of Web core fonts, which is now discontinued.
This font pack is designed for screen and print and as a “drop-in” replacement for Arial and Time New Roman. You get the following fonts: Aerial, Aerial Mono, Tymes & Veranda.

Microsoft has now released a new set of core fonts, that come installed with Vista. However I think it will be a while till they replace their older counterparts, especially since Vista has not replaced its older version.
I wish a set of open source fonts come pre-installed on all platforms. Of course Windows fonts can be dowloaded by anyone, but they still have to be downloaded for non-Windows users, which might not be popular. Why only open source fonts? Because they can be made available for all systems and all font rendering engines, and secondly their licenses allow redistribution with other softwares as against the restrictions of proprietary ones. This can help provide a smoother experience for the end users when the exclusive fonts are not present.
