Yes, the same CrossLoop that started as an easier and simpler remote desktop tool. Its edge over the others is that it removes the technology from desktop sharing, which is why it has appealed to the common man.
You can do many things with screen sharing, but the most important one being helping others with their problems. Now CrossLoop is making is more apparent, by letting you create an profile with them and build credibility through list of people you helped using CrossLoop. I think it is a great idea. Individuals can now aggregate their small interactions with people to build credibility, which I am sure can be leveraged professionally.
For the users, a centralized place with experts on various topics can be a blessing.
There have been ventures around this idea, trying to build a community of experts who can help others. But a key ingredient missing was an easy to use tool using which it could be executed. The existing tools were either too technical for the common man or selectively available. With CrossLoop this idea will get a boost. Even a lot of companies might find its use in their support systems.
CrossLoop today is more effective than the remote desktop tools available on Windows. But it will truly surpass all of them once it is available on multiple platforms like Linux and Mac. Then someone like me using Linux can help someone else with their Windows or Mac problems. That will not only make CrossLoop available to a wider user base, it will free people from using a specific platform and make more experts available in the pool.
If you have not tried CrossLoop earlier, give it a look, you might just like it. If you are using it, do not hesitate to create your profile there, it will only help you grow. Amit runs you through the screens and details.
Apart from the technical merit of CrossLoop, I think the team behind has been quite proactive in building a community and responding to it. I am primarily a Linux user, but I keep trying CrossLoop everytime because I am sure that they pay heed to what I say.
