Indian Railways On Wi-Fi Track

I have been jealous of those of you who have been surfing on planes or in gardens. Of course there are malls and cafes here in India where this is possible, and there are even talks about WiMaxing the cities, but I miss it the most when I am traveling. Apparently someone in India is thinking about it, as they plan to introduce Net access on a couple of trains and at about 50 stations. Considering that trains are a popular mode of transport in India, this can be really useful to the passengers. I hope the plans will expand to more trains and stations, and I will be able to stay connected the next time I am on one of these trains.

    That would be nice.

Before some days I had heard news that Pune was going to be blanket-covered by Wifi. Any updates on that?

I have not found any public information about it, and I have not taken many efforts to find it either. But I look forward to it. I think in a country like ours, the wireless will perform better and reach deeper than the wired in the long term.
