Emails that tell me about some article or updated profile or events are nothing but poor man’s tweets. I agree that it can be the other way at times. Though it is neither because of any of the tools themselves, it is because we use the wrong tool. I think more people using twitter would lead to less cruft in emails, lesser effort to attain inbox zero and better communication. So you see, twitter can actually be a saviour for email systems. Maybe Google should really think about investing in it!
