Reinventing The Wheel With Tizen?

It looks like Meego will soon be abandoned to move over to Tizen development. Meego is an open source OS for mobile devices. Tizen aims to be an open source OS for mobile devices. There is one difference – instead of Qt, Tizen will use HTML5 as a platform for its apps.

This reads very good, looks naive and seems hasty. It will be a switch-off and switch-on. There will be a considerable amount of lag which might drain off all the interest in this. IMHO, Meego works great. It can be used as a foundation for Tizen and can be evolved into using the new trendy technology. This can give the platform more time, a better roadmap for transformation and along with that a clear path to the developers. This seems to be abandoning a developed product, and its community.
